Our Input

Architect services across all work stages.

Our Value

S+SA supported the client through the whole design process, from outline design to allow for initial planning consent through to the design and delivery of bespoke homes.

Planning  – we undertook both outline and full planning applications to ensure the client achieved a positive outcome. The site had historically seen a number of design options rejected at planning stage.

As part of the full application, we worked closely with both the client and the planning officer to ensure the aesthetic was both contemporary, but reflective of the site context and vernacular materials.

For the technical design development, we undertook in-depth design to ensure that bespoke design elements could be delivered such as the hidden gutter systems and timber cladding solution.

Disability Action Yorkshire have a long relationship with SSA-Architects which began with the design of our residential home for younger adults with physical disabilities when they impressed us with their commitment to ensuring that the design aided full accessibility and independence.  They have remained firm supporters of and amongst other events run an annual bike ride raising much needed funds to support our work.  They show a genuine interest in our work and in the ongoing needs and aspirations of disabled people.  We consider SSA-Architects to be true and valued friends of the charity.
