Project Overview

Project: Proposed sports club pavilion development.
Client: Persimmon Homes (West Yorkshire) Ltd.
Cost: £2,500,000.00
Status: The Project is currently awaiting appointment of contract.

The Commission

The proposal was a requirement of a S106 agreement as part of a Persimmon Homes development site. S+SA were approached to provide a multidisciplinary service including structural, M&E, QS and Principal Designer services. A full technical design package was developed under a design and build procurement route for a competitive tender process to enable Persimmon Homes to demonstrate the project was feasible.

The proposal was suited to Sport England and the English Cricket Boards requirements ensuring it would be fit for purpose.

The design proposal was developed to a technical and internal finishes specification which was agreed with both Persimmon Homes as the funder and the Sports club as future occupiers.

Our Input

S+SA Provided a multidisciplinary service covering RIBA stage 4. The project is due to go on site later this year and S+SA will be providing a supporting architectural role throughout construction.

Our Value

S+SA consulted with the proposed occupiers of the sports club to ensure all aspects of their aspirations for the building were considered within the proposal.

Our experience on previous projects of a similar nature enabled S+SA to provide in-depth knowledge on the requirements of a sports facility to ensure it was fit for purpose.

We acted as lead consultant to provide a multidisciplinary service which encompassed architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical design services along with the Principal Designer role and quantity surveying.

Our technical design package enabled a full competitive tender which Persimmon Homes had not completed in detail previously, enabling a fully costed plan for the building to be in place to provide financial certainty on the development.
