Former Library
Starbeck

Project Overview

Project: Former Library, Starbeck
Client: S+SA Architects
Status: Completed

After acquiring our own premises, we developed plans to adapt the building’s layout to create a modern office space that meets the needs of our team. The building itself has a rich history, formerly a Methodist church, then a library, and most recently the home of a charitable organisation.

The previous layout consisted of small individual offices and lacked natural daylight. We created plans for a new, open layout, designed the interiors, and collaborated with a local contractor to deliver the refurbishment.

Following an extensive transformation, the space now meets our evolving needs. It features collaboration areas, quiet zones, a mezzanine level, a welcoming entrance, and a kitchen/dining space, all designed to enhance wellbeing, productivity, and team connectivity.

Looking ahead, the new space provides an opportunity to futureproof the building and further reduce our environmental impact. With future plans for the installation of solar PV panels and an air source heat pump, as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.
