Planning approval for Scorton
Another local planning application unanimously approved at committee! The application for the part-demolition and part-conversion of an existing care facility to form a residential development consisting of 23 residential dwellings (split up into 13 townhouses, 6 flats and 4 cottages) near Richmond, North Yorkshire, was approved last week.
The extensive buildings which have remained vacant for nearly 10 years, comprise a non-designated heritage asset located within the village conservation area. The proposal, at the Abbey Care Village on Hospital Road, Scorton enhances the conservation area setting, as well as that of nearby listed buildings.
