Yesterday, Joel and Chris attended TheBusinessDesk.com’s property lunch where they heard from guest speaker, Nick Keynes (Tileyard North) on why he chose to expand into Yorkshire, how Tileyard North has been developed, and what their long-term ambitions are.
Tileyard North is a 135,000 sq ft creative industries hub in Wakefield and it expects to be the UK’s largest creative community outside of London when re-generation is completed. The 150-year-old Rutland Mills, next to the city’s renowned Hepworth Gallery, have been converted after laying disused since 1999. The development has been led by the founders of Tileyard London – Europe’s largest creative community that is home to over 200 creative organisations, artists and independent creative industry businesses.
