Adswood Lodge official opening
Mark recently visited Stockport for the official opening of Adswood Lodge, a new 30-bed care facility for our client Exemplar Health Care.
Formerly belonging to a brewery, the Adswood Hotel previously provided accommodation and public house facilities but had fallen into disrepair in recent years. Due to the former hotel’s historical significance to the area it was subject to a Local Listing – consequently, the planning officers requested the front façade was to be retained and built around.
With the front façade carefully restored the rest of the building was thoughtfully designed to accommodate 30 large ensuite bedrooms split into three, ten-bed communities, which allows for the facility to build close communities within the home. Each of the units benefits from communal dining areas, living spaces and sensory bathrooms.
The home meets the demand for nursing care in the local area, supporting adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities including Huntington’s disease, and physical disabilities.
Residents moved in recently and the official opening was a fantastic celebration of the new home, with the ribbon cut by the Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Graham Greenhalgh.
