Tesco food retail appointed S+SA Architects to progress and achieve planning approval for a 6,039 sq m food retail store with car parking, multi-storey office unit with parking and seven small high street retail units with parking.
Active frontage and a good connection to the main high street have been an important part of the design consideration. The use of brickwork and glazed facades to the main road provides an active frontage without compromising on the internal merchandise layout for our client.
Overhanging canopies, timber cladding and glazing to the south-west corner give a positive architectural statement to make this open area of the site a key link to the store entrance and pedestrian areas.
