Project: Sheffield Crosspool, Leeds Briggate and Grange-over-Sands
Client: Tesco Stores Limited
Size: 3,000 - 4,000 sq ft
Status: Complete and trading

S+SA Architects Limited have been part of the Tesco development team to complete three express stores. Sheffield and Grange-over-Sands are both new build projects, with Leeds an internal refurbishment and fit-out of an existing unit.

Whilst these projects are relatively small in comparison to other recent projects, the benefit to the community in providing high quality design is always something to be proud of.

Through initiatives like our @theplanetmark certification and ISO 14001 accreditation, we’ve developed a plan to ensure a long-term approach towards a more sustainable future.

Here's how we're making a difference:

- Measuring carbon emissions across buildings, travel, waste, and water and setting targets for reduction
- Reducing our commuting miles and promoting public transport by opening an office in the centre of Leeds
- Switching to a green energy provider to power our Leeds office
- Embracing recycled paper to minimise our environmental footprint
- Community tree planting
- Continuing to collaborate with clients to assess the environmental impact of projects and enhance the design.

These efforts are not just about meeting standards; they're about embodying our values and ensuring a more sustainable future 🌍

It's been a busy start to the year at S+SA! Our retail team has been hard at work delivering multiple Tesco Express new stores across the North of England and Scotland.

From initial concept to completion, we're involved across all RIBA stages of the process, collaborating closely with developers to ensure these stores meet Tesco's standards. Whether it's a new build site or a renovation of an existing building, we're committed to delivering excellence.

We're excited to continue supporting new schemes and eagerly anticipate the opening of even more stores as the year unfolds.

Yesterday, Will and David spent the morning at @leedsbeckettofficial School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing providing support to Architectural Technology students during their mid-term crits. A great opportunity to connect with them and contribute to their promising schemes.

Will and David look forward to returning in May to see the end-of-year presentations.
